Revolving around the theme of acceptance, The Same Ties That Bind explores the various elements that determine a gay person’s acceptance within the family.
The story unfolds through tales of family love, prejudice, religion, and how these factors have come to play in creating each interviewee’s stand towards homosexuality in the Singapore society.
